This diploma is dedicated to Valery Chkalov, a Soviet aircraft test pilot, brigade commander and the Hero of the Soviet Union, born February 2, 1904, in the town of Vasilyevo (now Chkalovsk, Nizhny Novgorod region).

The diploma is awarded for QSO contacts (observation) with radio amateurs in Nizhny Novgorod and Nizhny Novgorod region - you need to have 7 different call prefixes + 1 QSO with any radio amateurs permanently or temporary living or staying in Chkalovsk, Nizhny Novgorod region (NN-64), or Chkalovsk district of Nizhny Novgorod region. Radio contacts for Valery Chkalov certificate are counted from 01.01.2011.

As of 29.08.2013 there are three radio amateurs in Chkalovsk district - Dmitry RK3TT, Alexander RW3TC and Sergey R3TGB.

In August-September 2013 using radio station R73ASP (Radio 73 Alexander Stepanovich Popov) is credited as four prefixes for your diploma: R (R73ASP), RK (RK3BJ), RM (RM2T) и RA (RA3TYL).
